About Us
Fredericks Oxfordshire is one of the Fredericks Foundation’s “lending hubs”. This means that money is raised in Oxfordshire by local people and then lent to businesses in Oxfordshire. Fredericks Oxfordshire works as follows:
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board effectively manages the loan fund in Oxfordshire. It is responsible for fund raising, marketing and promotion and for ensuring that the loan fund is budgeted and managed. The advisory board is made up of the following:
William Barton, West Oxfordshire District Council
Mark Beard, Beard Construction
Chris Carr, OBE
Sally Dicketts, Oxford & Cherwell Valley College
Charles Dodwell, Fredericks Foundation
Mike Jennings, Oxford Business Mentors
Gavin Little, Critchleys
Karen Matthews, Cherwell District Council
Stuart Miller, ByBox
Frank Nigriello, Oxfordshire Business First
Julie Philips, Barclays Bank
Claire Thompson, Syncro PR
Lending Panel
The local lending panel makes the final decision on whether to grant each loan. Every time the panel is convened, people are drawn from a pool of volunteers to sit on it. Each panel will normally comprise 4 people and will typically be made up of an accountant, a bank manager, an entrepreneur and a representative from the Fredericks Foundation.
Sitting on a lending panel is a great way to become involved with Fredericks Oxfordshire. If you are interested in joining the group of people from which the panels are drawn, please see the Supporters page.
Administration of the loans
Once loans are made, all the administration including management of repayments is run from the Fredericks Foundation’s offices in Lightwater.
